Horseland was an online community and browser game where members took care of, bred, trained and showed horses and dogs. Begun in 1994 in the United States, Horseland had grown to have more than 8 million users who played from all over the world.

Horseland shaped early online equestrian culture, blending virtual pet care, roleplay, and community storytelling. It demonstrated how niche interests could form thriving virtual ecosystems long before fandom‑specific platforms became common. The game influenced later pet‑simulation worlds and equestrian communities in Roblox and mobile games. Its longevity showed the power of passion‑based virtual microcultures.
